Street Fighter 6 Spead Sheet

Image
Street Fighter 6 Win streak Bonus   Today I made a spread sheet to record information about the game Street Fighter 6. I was curious to see if a player was able to win every match how long it would take them to climb the rank latter. There are 8 ranks in Street Fighter 6 Rookie, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Master. The first couple of ranks up to Gold have win streak bonuses to make it easier for good players to climb. However, the later ranks Platinum, Diamond, and Master get rid of the win streak thus making it take longer to rank up.    I calculated this by first finding the league points need to get to each rank. Since each rank is divided up into 5 stars, I recorded the points needed for star 1 to star 5, for example Gold 1 (1 star) - Gold 5 (5 stars).  This was not to difficult to find since many people in the community wanted to estimate how long it would take them to get to Master rank. The other parameter I needed to was the win st...

Found Character #6 Glide -Eye

Image
Inspiration  Today I decided to use this oriental design I found in the Stout building for my character. When I originally saw this, I thought that it looked like a kite thus making me think of how I could make a kite into a game enemy.  Character Lore/Theory  Glide Eye is a common enemy that can be found within an open world rpg. It will shoot blazing laser beams at the protagonist and attempt to slice them with their sharp robotic claws. Despite their robotic claws and metallic make up it is unknown if Glide Eye's are actually robots or biological cyborgs. They are unable to communicate however they do have the capacitary to understand humans and exhibit a plethora of strange behaviors. When something enters the confines of their territory, they strike without mercy.  Psychology: Glide eyes have a history of learning and adapting to the world around them. Some think that this may be the reason for their mysterious behaviors. Glide Eyes study the strategies o...

Found Character #5 Narakagana

Image
Inspiration Today I decided to use a manhole cover as inspiration for my character. When I first saw this  the  simplistic  pattern made me think of earrings or some form of jewelry.  While thinking of how to make this creature uncanny I decided that human hands were the best way to go about doing this because it's difficult to make those fit naturally on to any creature. Character lore/Theory  These creatures were once known as followers of the Hindu God Ganesha however after falling victim to greed they became corrupted and devoid of emotions they once had not only distancing themselves from the real Ganesha but creating an entirely new god out of Ganesha's image. Narakagana are found in the Astral crossroads. They travel in groups similar to that of a pilgrimage searching for the distorted vison of Ganesha that dwells in their minds. Narakagana are very agile using their limbs to leap across and climb long distances in a matter of seconds. These beings a...

Found Character #4 Zukugallu the Feathered Fury

Image
Inspiration  Today I decided to develop a system to find my character. After taking 3 pictures of clouds while walking across campus. After that I sketched all of them onto a sheet of paper, merging different lines to get new shapes.  Once I finished doing that, I discovered two characters immediately. One was shaped like a dog while the other had a bird like outline. I eventually decided to go with the bird.  Sketches  Zukugallu takes inspiration from the Mesopotamian god Quetzalcotal. its design is a cross between a tropical bird and a dragon. Its wings are vibrant like macaw appearing a variety of colors usually shades of red.   Zukugallu is known to breathe fire and command large tornados at will. During this boss fight Zukugallu will use a variety of wind-based attacks and begin using fire if its health is low enough. The player can only battle Zukugallu at the Sky bound Sanctum during sun rise. This fight can be initiated by using the Sunw...

Found Character #3 Oyashio

Image
Oyashio    Inspiration for my character  While walking to the library I stumbled across this odd structure next to Roberts Hall.  On closer inspection I noticed that the top part of this structure had something that looked like a head. The 2 loops also looked similar to ears or horns which gave me an idea for a possible NPC.  Character traits/Theory  The Oyashio are dragon like creatures commonly found in riverbeds, streams, and hot springs.  These creatures are peaceful towards humans with their diet consisting mostly of grapes and fish. Furthermore, due to their ability to communicate and establish relations with humans they were able to facilitate hot springs that welcome Oyashio and humans alike. Oyashio are good at heart always looking to help which makes it nearly impossible to dislike them. Many of them are blacksmiths and shopkeepers sometimes making their way into human society.  Changes to the Character Troupe One-way Oyashio differs fro...

Found Character #2 Abzu Champions

Image
Inspiration for my character  This is a lamp I found right outside the Com building.  When looking at the top part of the lamp I noticed that it looked similar to the horns found on a ram. The slight curve to the right and the twirl in the middle made me consider the possibilities of what creatures I could add it to. Character traits/Theory  Abzu champions are a warrior race of dragons with ram horns. They value honor and war, often competing of territory. After becoming an adult, a coming-of-age ceremony is held where they receive the challenger's scarf to as proof, they are now an official warrior. As a warrior they must vow to never interrupt established duels.                                                                               ...

Found Character #1 - Amaterasu

Image
Found Character #1 8/25/2023                                                                             Inspiration for my character  This storm drain found behind Cottrell featured a series of unique patterns that enticed me to look deeper into it.  At first started drawing the different circles on paper to see if I could make anything out of it. I eventually noticed that some of the circles featured a humanoid like torso that I could work with. Religious Concept  Behind the torso I noticed a ring which gave me the idea to make my charact...

Blog 11: Negatives of Social Media

Image
Social media is often glorified as a necessity in the 21st century with an estimated 3.96 billion users. By 2025 this number is estimated to increase to over half the human population. This comes as no surprise since more and more children are being introduced to social media and other technological advancements at earlier ages. On the outside this may not seem like a problem to many people because as it is a norm to have social media, however kids who're given access to social media at earlier ages are unable to separate it from their lives. This creates a problem with many finding themselves hurt by cyberbullying . Personally, I think idea of cyberbullying is laughable to some extent not only due to all the options you have to prevent it but also the fact that you shouldn't take most people on the internet serious is the first place. However, as I said before many social media users especially y...

Blog 10: Awareness, Mediashare, Theories, and Polices

While listening to the different presentations I learned about the concept of False flags. These are defined as h ostile attack that is designed to look like it was perpetrated by someone other than the person or group. One example of this can be seen by the Muken Incident of 1931. During this incident the Japanese blew up their own railroad to use as an excuse to target the Chinese. Furthermore by blaming the Chinese for the destruction of their railroad they used it as an incentive to invade Manchuria. Another example of this can seen by the Gleiwitz incident . This took place in 1939 in which the Nazis organized a plan to invade Poland. Since Hitler wanted to justify the invasion on Poland, German media outlets claimed that Germans living in Poland were being tortured. This sparked small interest however attention eventually began to elevate during a series of false flag operations that revolved around border incidents. Gleiwitz was a German t...

Blog 9: Whistleblowers

Image
Whistle blowers are defined as people who leak government corruption out to the public. The term was coined in the 19th century by Ralph Nader who used the word whistle to define drawing attention to something.  The first whistle blower I will address is John Marks  who was a foreign service officer who exposed the government project MK Ultra. This was a project took place during the cold war in which the government wanted to test the possibility of mind control, brain washing, and creating human puppets through the use of LSD. One form of study was called acid test which was a series of parties held by Ken Kesey who volunteered to take part in government drug research in which he observed the effects of LSD through movement and sound. This marked the beginning of not just Hippie culture but a multitude of different psychedelic movements. Another series of test was called operation Midnight climax which was directed by a man named George White, a fed...

Blog 8: Privacy

Image
After watching a few TED talks on privacy it reinforced many ideas about keeping your identity safe on the internet. These privacy issues that affect me, my family  and all internet user stem from contracts of adhesion. Furthermore, these are defined as legally binding contracts that prevent the customer from having little to no power in the agreement. This is done through the terms and conditions of every major social media app. Since they are created for the sake of data mining information from their users it's no surprise that this agreement gives them the power to do so. Data mining can be done through multiple methods whether that be user generated info, tracking malware, or deep packet inspection. All of these will effect us through the advertisements, google searches, and video recommendations we see. However due to how my me and my family reserved outlook on social media its safe to say that is the most that would effect us. Many people l...

Blog #7: Diffusion of Innovations - Hip Hop

Image
Cassette tapes played a big role in the emergence of rap music in the 1960s. As soon as cassette tapes were released rap music followed after through originating in New York city within the black community. When looking at Rogers Diffusion of Innovations theory the pioneers and early adopters where identified as black emcees who performed in block parties and other events. When rap was initially discussed many people were opposed to it because gangster rap acted as the face for rap, thus drawing eyes away from lyricism. However, in the 1980s this negative view greatly changed due to early majority such as Tupac, Nas, Rakim, Wu Tang, and many more who valued creativity, messages, and cleaver wordplay within their songs. This was known as the golden age  of rap due to the cultural influence it had on expanding the genre through addressing social issues and experimenting with  new  instrumentals. This uptake of rap within the mainst...

Blog #6: Historical Technological Communication

Image
When it comes to technologies throughout history some interesting things that I have learned are about drones. I found their political use to interesting because its in a morally grey area in terms of if the government should use them or not. Some people a in support of drones because they're cheaper than sending humans and provide surveillance in extremely dangerous areas.  Others believe that the drones should not be used by the government because they're not always accurate and very secretive. A good example of this is the incident where the government mistook someone else for a  facilitator for the Islamic state.  This caused the death of the targeted Zemari Ahmadi and 7 children all apart of his family. I learned the main difference between drones and unnamed aerial vehicles is that drones do not have a operator and UAVs do.       Another technology that I learned about was the telegraph. This was created i...

Blog #5: AI, New Technologies and Privacy

Image
With the emergence of automation within the workforce many people have begun to fear the new age of technology. This fear stems from the idea of mass job loss with many people believing that  over the next decade over 20 million jobs will be absorbed by automation. Automation has also been seen to impact people differently depending on gender and ethnicity. Lower class Black and Latino people are more likely to suffer from the effects of automation since the main target for automation is entree level jobs. This became apparent when the pandemic was still at large because many jobs like cashiers, cooks, waiters, etc took a huge loss due to them being manual. On the other hand, robot manufactures view automation as a good thing because it they believe that the making of robotic parts will either lead to more jobs or have no negative effects on it . Even if it wont restore all the jobs lost they think of it as something evolutionary that needs to be ac...

Blog Post #4 Cassette Tapes

Image
Cassette Tapes             Cassette tapes were created in 1962 by Lou Ottens in the Philips company in Belgium. Lou was a Dutchman who came up with the idea of cassette tapes while experimenting with reel-to-reel tape recorder. He wanted something more user-friendly since reel-to-reel technology was heavier and mostly used by trained professionals. Cassette tapes were built to be compact and used magnetic tape to record. Furthermore this tape  allowed the user to record and separate tracks of audio to create their own playlist. This played a major role in the creation of mix-tapes in the causing cassettes...

Blog #3 Limit Governmental Power

Image
Out of all the free expression values I value the concept of checks on governmental power the most because I feel as if it's the most useful as of today. The government has historically been known to use its powers in ways that can be deemed as unjust. One recent example was during the BLM protest after violent protest began to emerge every protest within the area was prevented by the government regardless if it was violent or peaceful. Evidence of this can be seen by the peaceful protest near the White House in which protesters were shot with rubber bullets and forced the disperse. There was other incidents as well such as the Oakland protest in which 40 arrest were issued and tear gas was thrown without warning thus violating their rights. After this series of civil unrest concluded the government pretended that it never happened not even considering any changes to be made to the police system which reinforced the idea that police brutality is not a gover...
